Paper bag wall
Sometimes I can’t find the courage to be creative when I just spent $100 on the materials I’m using. That is the beauty of a paper bag wall, which is simply covering your wall with recycled paper to draw/paint/collage/etc on. It is low-pressure. It is always there looking at you for whenever you want to add to it. It is collaborative - everyone who comes in can see it and anyone can contribute, add to and alter what’s there. It is a space to be purely expressive, with the rare freedom to cover the walls with no stakes.
This idea came from my former roomate, artist and organizer Padme Trujillo. Together we hosted a beautiful paper bag wall. The large tree-like thing and the collage and figure at the base of it are my individual work.
