Bathroom Wall Art

This project an honoring of bathrooms as a queer and crip refuge, social equalizer, original de-stim room, safe space, unprofessionalized vulnerable collective art space, and undeniable hold out reminder that we are bodies. Since going to the bathroom is one of the most commonly accepted self-regulation needs, the bathroom ends up being a place to take care of all self-regulation needs and everything else considered too shameful, unsafe or disgusting to do in public. Bleeding, blowing your nose, masturbating, stimming, having a panic attack, fucking, hiding, vaping, vomiting, using drugs, cruising, private convos, sink showering, crying - bathrooms are a safe space. No security cameras. No questions. (At least most of the time). This project will honor bathroom wall art and the life cycles we engage in by pissing/pooping/bleeding. It will encourage love for our bodies as the basis for a fractal love of Earth, envision the gendervague accessible rest-room of my dreams, and say “I see you” to all of us who take refuge from a world that tells us our bodies are disgusting.
